It’s your boy Royal’s hometown. Royal went to school, did his time and got heck out. So the rival high school won a contest and President Obama came into town to give the commencement speech. This is great for the community and Michigan in general. After all, we need all of the help we can get.

But in this day of technology there is one thing you cannot do. That is fall asleep and YOUR graduation while the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is talking. I’m embarrassed for this kid and you should be too.

Who else seen a blaxploitation movie say yeah! (YEEEAAAAHHHHH)

I am a fan of blaxploitation movies, I remember ’bout five-six years ago I bought my first ones, The Black 6, The tale of a mean biker gang seeking vengeance from the death of a cherished white-girl-lovin brother, featuring Mean Joe Green and a bunch of other black football players from that time.  And of course, The Black Godfather, “There’s a new Godfather in town…” and he’s trying to keep the man from sellin smack in the black neighborhoods, plus have sex with afro’d women.  So when I caught the trailer for Black Dynamite starring Michael Jai White featuring Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Tommy Davidson, Arsenio Hall, Brian McNight, John Sally and Cedrick Yarbrough as Chocolate Giddy-Up (aka jones-y off RENO 911) I was like oh I got to see this.  Thing is, its going to Sundance first so hopefully we can get a lot of buzz goin and they’ll release it nation wide so that those of us that never want to visit Utah ever don’t have to.  In the meantime, peep these trailers.

Obama’s Article in the New York Times on Health Care Reform

You know what? I’m one of the 50 million Americans who don’t have health insurance. You know why? Because I can’t afford it. I’m 24 and an independent student and am not covered by my parents anymore. I can barely afford my most basic needs. Shoot.  I have about two or three health items that could use some attention but they would all be considered pre-existing conditions because I had them checked out when I was on my parents plan, and got turned down by the insurance companies for coverage, and even after paying the doctors straight up, the problem is still there. Now ain’t that somethin’ else.

You see I’m hearin’ the debate, but there ain’t no reason a public and a private option can’t co-exist.  Public and Private Parcel services co-exist in America.  Public and Private Grade Schools and Colleges co-exist and as far as I can tell them Private Colleges do pretty well in enrollment.  Look, I’d rather have a bureaucrat who ain’t in it for the money dealing with the paper work than an insurance company that don’t care nothin about me but making a profit.  They don’t do nothin’ but try to short change people and get the most dollar for the smallest investment.  Read this article in the New York Times by President Obama and pass it on.
