I’ve been really soulful lately… I’m over here on a day off, eating cold chicken lo-mien with no soy sauce, listening to The Weeknd and surfing my favorite music blog, we wore masks, and I find something worth my time yet again: Jessie Boykins III, some Chicago based soul and R&B…
Now I’m probably late to the party on this dude, which I am cause the man already has a wiki and apparently hasnt had a release since ’08, but I don’t care… I’m officially a fan after downloading his latest release. Here’s a track embedded below, and then the artwork after words, click for a redirect to the WWM post, cause they deserve the credit on this one…
No, they aren’t beefing… Drake actually cosigned on The Weeknd’s awesomeness… The Weeknd actually just came out with his own take on Drake’s newest release, Trust Issues… Catch both below…
I’ve been waiting for this to drop ever since he dropped some bars of it at the Facebook MBDTF Pre-Release promo event… The Beat is classic Kanye… The story is classic Kanye… While the flow is modern Kanye… This is the direction I want for his next album, I’ve been missing 2004 lately.
So, apparently we have another Earl Sweatshirt encounter/information article. First we had Complex find him out in Samoa at a troubled boys camp.
Now, over at The New Yorker, they took it further and did some family investigations. They Interviewed his Dad, his mom, and even supposedly Thebe Neruda Kgositsile aka Earl himself!
Here’s what I get from this article… I don’t buy it. I personally think his mom tweeked these email exchanges somehow. I just can’t see any 16/17 year old kid giving up on great times and fame just to please his mom. That’s just my opinion…

Back in April I stumbled upon this group consisting of singer/songwriter Ted Wendler, producer/vocalist Ben Hazlegrove, & Drummer Lane Shaw… They are an electro pop outfit from Virginia/Tennessee/Iowa…
I first heard the following song, “She Make’s Me Feel,” and instantly looked up other shit I could find on them; Which was scarce and can be found on their my space
Their shit is so smooth, love the sound and the vocals are nice too… Shortly after I started getting into them, I found out they were managed by Shae, of N*E*R*D fame, and it all made sense. He’s even talked about them in a few mtv.com interviews… Anywho, back in April it was also announced that a mixtape would becoming out “soon” mixed by Benzi & Diplo, both are the shit. Of course in mixtape years “soon” means “6 months to a year from now.”
So that brings us to today, 6 months later, and we finally have word on the tape… It’ll be dropping next tuesday sometime! it’s described as a remix album which I’m assuming they are keeping their own shit for the album and mixing up some other shit they had in the ammo can and throwing it our way.
Here is the first track off that below, “Gimpse of the Future” remixed by Xaphoon Jones (The chemist of Chiddy Bang)
DLRN or Delorean just released a free album entitled The Bridge today… I haven’t listened to the entire thing yet, only about 3 tracks in, but this shit is slick… I was sold on the track titled “Trill Cosby!” This is something new and refreshing in my ear and I def will keep these dudes on my radar.
You can judge for yourself by downloading at the link below the album art…
