Welcome back for some more of this week’s edition of the Sunday School. Be sure to check out the 1st part if you haven’t yet. Needless to say there has been a ton of great Hip-Hop entering my life lately and I want to share it with ya’ll.
Code2Ave has that U-N-I fever ya’ll. I know Royal and I have been bumpin their shit heavy this week. I’m sure you loved the previous few videos as well as the one for K.R.E.A.M. Well we got plenty more for you from U-N-I after the jump. Also appearing will be more of that old religion with a new school feel from Duck Down productions, new shit from Edo G & Masta Ace, a classic from Blu and more magnificent masterpieces from Marcus McFly.
U-N-I to the Verse… just straight up unique and ill as fuck. Y-O and Thurzday shouldn’t be slept on ya’ll (which we must apologize for doing ourselves because these dudes been doin it since 07). The attitude, skill and sound to keep from getting grouped into that bullshit genre of over hyped and under talented new skinny jean hipster hip-hop, even if they somewhat look the part at times. Hit up there site and download Before There Was Love & A Love Supreme; and if you’re bored, hit google for Fried Chicken & Watermelon.
If you’ve kicked it with me before, I’m sure you’ve learned of my pseudo worship of Masta Ace. To me dude is the MOST underrated legend in the game. He is still doin his thing today with project like eMC and his current work with Edo G. I feel like a lot of these dudes young cats idolize today got their flow from Ace. Peep how Edo and Ace take shots at these no talent shits today in “Little Young”, and thats just the tip of the iceberg. Also, on the low I’m trying to get Ace to come to Grand Rapids next year when he goes on tour. If ya’ll can hit him up on twitter and let him know you want him here as well, it would be amazing and great and ya’ll would def do your part to help out (trust I’m working on it with local cats here to see if we can make it work too).
If you liked that video for K.R.E.A.M and are a fan of Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” you should probably down load Duck Down’s “Download the Right Thing”. I like the concept of this shit and its got some heat on it too. Check it out, and let me know what you think and tell me what you Flickin like.
An enormous part of my last few weeks was spent listening to Blu. I can listen to Below the Heavens everyday and it will never get old to me, I don’t even need to mention any of his other stuff because its all great. I love the talent coming from the left coast as of late, specially because non of it sounds the same. It comes from all angles of life and all different sounds. My hip-hop’s heart is happy, gettin that cardio dig? Plus Blue Collar Workers is kinda my theme music right now cause I stay at work, too bad I ain’t got that girl on the side but thats a different tail.
If ya’ll appreciate and incredibly well thought out website from your favorite rappers favorite rapper, you need to peep Marcus McFly’s site. I don’t want to give it away so ya’ll will just need to click over yourselves but its ill. He’s got a blog on there, downloads, videos, links to other dope sites and pretty much anything you ever need.
That K.R.E.A.M joint is pretty good. Got a download link Dr. Ama?
